Samenvatting

Dit prachtig geschreven boek is een van de belangrijkste publikaties over psychotrauma van de laatste tijd. De aandacht voor dit onderwerp en daaruit voortkomende psychische stoornissen is sinds 1980 enorm toegenomen. Gegeven alleen al het feit dat de klachten van zo veel mensen die hulp zoeken bij een instelling voor geestelijke gezondheidszorg het gevolg zijn van traumatische ervaringen, is dat een verheugende ontwikkeling.
