Hoe plegers seksueel misbruik plannen

Samenvatting

Seksueel misbruik is geen daad die de pleger overkomt. Het wordt veeleer zorgvuldig voorbereid. Tijd, plaats en omstandigheden worden zodanig geselecteerd dat de kans om gepakt te worden minimaal is. Via een groot aantal technieken, zoals isoleren, vertrouwen winnen, bevoorrechten en geheimhouding afdwingen, manoeuvreert de pleger het kind in een positie waarin het zich medeverantwoordelijk gaat voelen voor het misbruik. Wil behandeling van plegers succes hebben, dan dient dit aspect van het plannen en voorbereiden een belangrijke plaats daarin te hebben.

Summary

Sexual abuse is not something that ‘just happens’. On the contrary, as a rule it is carefully planned. Time, place and circumstances are selected such that the chance of being caught is minimal. On the basis of a number of techniques such as isolation, trust–building, privileging and secrecy, the perpetrator manoeuvres the child into a position in which it gradually feels responsible for the abuse.The treatment of perpetrators can only be successful on the condition that ‘planning and preparing’ are indisputable parts of the treatment program.
