samenvatting

Peritraumatische dissociatie verwijst naar uitingen van derealisatie, tijdsverstoring, depersonalisatie en verbijstering tijdens of direct na een schokkende gebeurtenis. Deze directe reacties blijken nauw samen te hangen met later optredende posttraumatische stress-stoornissen. Dit artikel biedt een overzicht van dit nieuwe onderzoeksveld en gaat daarbij ook in op de diagnose acute stress-stoornis, op heftige emoties als voorspeller van latere problematiek en op relevante meetinstrumenten.
