De taxatie en behandeling van seksuele problemen

Samenvatting

In dit artikel worden elementaire strategieën besproken die een gezins– of relatietherapeut ten dienste staan wanneer hij wordt geconfronteerd met seksuele problemen van zijn cliënten. Allereerst wordt aan de hand van literatuur een overzicht gegeven van het soort informatie dat men dient te verzamelen voordat het behandelingsplan kan worden gemaakt. Daarna worden de meest belangrijke technieken geschetst die men kan gebruiken, waarbij het geven van voorlichting, het bevorderen van de communicatie en het doorbreken van vicieuze cirkels een centrale rol spelen.

Abstract

Assessment and treatment of sexual problems. This paper focus–es on the most essential strategies which can be applied by a family– or couple therapist who is confronted with clients with sexual problems. Firstly, using an overview of recent literature a classification is given of different categories of information which should be sought by the therapist before creating his treatment plan. Subsequently, the most essential techniques are demonstrated, consisting of giving information, facilitating communication and assignments which prevent the continuing of vicious circles.
