Samenvatting
Uitgaande van een leertheoretische opvatting over gokverslaving wordt een behandelingsmodel beschreven voor jongeren met problemen op dit terrein, waarin gezinsinterventies een prominente rol spelen. Ingegaan wordt op het belang van participatie van de ouders in de behandeling. Vervolgens wordt een onderscheid gemaakt tussen gokken als manifestatie van een controleprobleem in het gezin en gokken als uiting van meer omvattende gezinsproblematiek. De taxatie en diagnostiek van het probleem worden beschreven en daarna tot slot strategieën voor de behandeling. Hierbij wordt wederom een onderscheid gemaakt tussen gezinnen waarin primair een controleprobleem speelt en gezinnen waarin het gokken verbonden is met andere aspecten van de gezinsstructuur.

Abstract
Short term familytherapy for adolescents with pathological gambling. Based on a behavioral conception of pathological gambling a treatment model for adolescents with problems in this area is presented, in which system–interventions have a prominent place. The importance of participation of the parents in the treatment is pointed out. Next a distinction is made between gambling as a manifestation of a control problem in the family and as a manifestation of problems in the familystructure. Discussed are the diagnostic aspects of the problem, after which treatment strategies are described. A distinction is made between families in which there primar–ily seems to be a control problem and families in which the gambling prob–lem is related to other dimensions of the family structure.
