Samenvatting

Hulten et al. van het Health Institute in Bethesda (VS) hebben een meta-analyse uitgevoerd van het effect van statinen op de prognose van patiënten die met een acute verslechtering van hun coronairlijden werden opgenomen. De gedachte is dat een hoog gedoseerde statine, waarmee binnen 14 dagen na opname wordt begonnen, een secundair preventieve werking zou hebben.
