Samenvatting

De incidentie van hart- en vaatziekten neemt toe bij oplopende systolische en diastolische bloeddruk, over het gehele bereik van 115/75 tot 185/115 mmHg. De afname van het risico op het ontwikkelen van een cardiovasculaire complicatie neemt proportioneel af met de mate van bereikte bloeddrukdaling.
