Samenvatting

Resultaten van epidemiologisch onderzoek en neurologisch onderzoek ondersteunen de hypothese dat frequent cannabisgebruik de hersenfunctie dusdanig kan beïnvloeden, dat bij daarvoor gevoelige personen psychoses en psychotische symptomen kunnen ontstaan. Het epidemiologisch onderzoek richt zich vooral op de associatie tussen het gebruik van cannabis en het ontstaan van psychose, terwijl het neurologisch onderzoek zich richt op de neurochemische effecten van cannabis.
