Samenvatting
Bij patiënten met chronisch obstructief longlijden (COPD) spelen bacteriële luchtweginfecties een belangrijke rol bij het ontstaan van exacerbaties. Exacerbaties hebben een negatief effect op ziekteprogressie en incomplete eradicatie van bacteriën leidt door chronische ontsteking tot meer schade aan het longweefsel.Vanwege toenemende resistentie tegen een aantal antibiotica, werd onderzocht welke risicopatiënten baat hebben bij behandeling met nieuwe generatie antibiotica.
