Samenvatting

De tot nu toe verschenen publicaties over cardiovasculaire gebeurtenissen bij gebruik van angiotensine- II-antagonisten (AT-II-antagonisten) hebben wisselende resultaten laten zien. Een recent onderzoek uitgevoerd door Verma en Strauss laat zelfs zien dat er een toegenomen kans op een myocardinfarct (MI) bestaat. Om het eventuele verband tussen het gebruik van AT-II-antagonisten en MI te verduidelijken hebben McDonald et al. deze systematische review uitgevoerd.
