Inhalatiesteroïden en mortaliteit bij patiënten met COPD

Samenvatting

Klinische onderzoeken suggereren dat corticosteroïden die per inhalatie worden toegediend aan COPD-patiënten het aantal en de ernst van exacerbaties verminderen en de kwaliteit van leven verbeteren. Wat het effect van inhalatiesteroïden op de mortaliteit in deze patiëntengroep is, is echter niet bekend.
