Pimecrolimus bij kinderen met atopische dermatitis

Samenvatting

De standaardbehandeling van atopische dermatitis bestaat uit regelmatige thuisbehandeling met emollientia en gebruik van topische corticosteroïden bij exacerbaties. Aangezien langdurig gebruik van topische corticosteroiden bij kinderen leidt tot huidatrofie, secundaire infecties en onderdrukking van normale hormonale regelmechanismen van de hypothalamus-hypofyse-bijnier-as, worden deze spaarzaam en slechts gedurende korte perioden toegepast.
