Myocarditis als bijwerking van clozapine

Samenvatting

Myocarditis als zeldzame bijwerking van clozapine kan succesvol worden behandeld met corticosteroïden. Histologisch onderzoek voorafgaand aan de behandeling is gewenst om het verband tussen de cardiovasculaire problemen en clozapine te bevestigen. Dit gebeurt door het aantonen van infiltratie van eosinofiele granulocyten in het myocard en degranulatie van deze cellen.
