Samenvatting
Keeley en medewerkers voerden een meta-analyse uit van alle onderzoeken waarbij het hartinfarct gerandomiseerd behandeld werd met primaire angioplastiek (percutane transluminale coronaire angioplastiek; PTCA) of trombolyse. Zij toonden aan dat PTCA de beste behandeling was op alle eindpunten: sterfte, reïnfarct en CVA. Dit gold zowel voor patiënten die direct in een ziekenhuis met PTCA-faciliteiten werden behandeld als voor degenen die daar via een perifere kliniek naar werden doorverwezen.
