Glaucoom is een verzamelnaam voor een aantal oogaandoeningen met glaucomateuze neuropathie van de gezichtszenuw (nervus opticus), die zich behalve in meetbare uitholling (excavatie, cupping) van de papil uit in progressieve gezichtsvelduitval vanuit de periferie.
