Samenvatting

Vroeger was het gebruik van medicijnen, meestal fytotherapeutica, buitengewoon ongewis en vaak riskant. Er bestond onduidelijkheid over de samenstelling, de werking en bijwerking van deze middelen. Een belangrijke taak van de apotheker was het uitoefenen van controle op de identiteit en kwantitatieve samenstelling van de middelen.
