Samenvatting

De United Kingdom Prospective Diabetes Study is uitgebreid met een vergelijkend onderzoek tussen acarbose en placebo bij een deel van de deelnemende patiënten. Het onderzoek heeft interessante resultaten opgeleverd. De vraag was in welke mate acarbose bijdraagt aan een verbeterde glykemische instelling of een verbeterde handhaving ervan.
