Samenvatting

In de jaren tachtig werden de ACE-remmers, antihypertensivaACE-remmers en de calciumantagonisten, antihypertensivacalciumblokkeerders geïntroduceerd als antihypertensiva. Hun effectiviteit op harde eindpunten was onbekend. Men zou dus uiterste terughoudendheid verwachten bij het gebruik ervan. Niets bleek minder waar.
