Samenvatting

Diffuse osteoporose, oestrogeenosteoporose komt veel voor bij reumapatiënten; het risico op fracturen van wervels en heupen is verdubbeld. De effecten van corticosteroïden komen hier vaak nog bovenop. Bij gezonde vrouwen hebben oestrogenen een beschermend effect op perimenopauzaal botverlies.
