Uit een meta-analyse vanuit het Amsterdamse AMC blijkt dat behandeling van een diepe veneuze trombose met laagmoleculaire heparine (LMWH) in plaats van met ongefractioneerde heparine effectiever en veiliger is (vgl. MFM 1994; 32: 265).
