Samenvatting

Prenataal toegediende corticosteroïden hebben duidelijk hun waarde bewezen bij (dreigende) vroeggeboorte tussen de 24 en 34 weken zwangerschap. Een halvering van het risico op respiratory distress syndroom (RDS) wordt gezien (zie MFM 1996; 34: 52). Hoe zit het echter met de andere, niet-pulmonaire effecten van deze therapie?
