Summary
Two strains ofDictyostelium mucoroides-complex referable to the speciesD. sphaerocephalum (Oud.) Sacc. and March. have been described for the first time from Indian soils. A larger spore size range has been observed than those of the previously recorded strains of this species. One strain seems to combine the characters ofD. sphaerocephalum andD. brevicaule Olive in having smaller sorocarps and a larger maximum spore size limit.
