Conclusions

In the light of the present investigationExormotheca can no longer be regarded as the lowest type of the Compositæ asAitchisoniella breaks down the boundary line existing between Compositæ and Targioniaceæ making the one pass insensibly into the other. Thus the two families should be merged into the family Marchantiaceæ as has already been suggested by Prof. Kashyap.
