Ghose (“A Systematic and Ecological Account of a Collection of Blue-green Algæ from Lahore and Simla,”Jour. Linn. Soc., London; Bot., 1923,46, p. 337) described the alga asChæmosiphon filamentosa, but Geitler (op. cit. A Systematic and Ecological Account of a Collection of Blue-green Algæ from Lahore and Simla,”Jour. Linn. Soc., London; Bot., 1930–32, p. 411) has recently made itStichosiphon filamentosus.
Ghose (op. cit. “ A Systematic and Ecological Account of a Collection of Blue-green Algæ from Lahore and Simla”Jour. Linn. Soc. London; Bot., 1923 p. 337) does not describe the actual form of the sporangia but his figures show that they are not exactly cylindrical exhibiting parallel walls in optical section.
