Strongyloides akbari N. SP.—A new nematode parasite fromCrocidura coerulea, with a note on some species of the genus strongyloides

Summary

A new species ofStrongyloides fromCrocidura coerulea has been described. For the first timeStrongyloides is recorded as a parasite of reptiles. The occurrence of a new variety ofStrongyloides stercoralis in fox has also been noted.

Type specimens ofStrongyloides akbari n. sp. and others on which the observations are based, have been deposited in the Museum of the Zoological Laboratories, Muslim University, Aligarh, U.P., No. 950-953.
