Abstract
We show here that the restriction of photons issuing from the surface of an uncharged sphere with Schwarzschild radius to the radial direction is removed for a charged sphere. Also we establish that in the case of a charged infinitely long cylinder the mass per unit length does not impose any restriction on the photons issuing from the surface in non-radial directions unlike in the case of uncharged infinitely long cylinders. But in the limit when the radius of the charged cylinder approaches a certain value depending on the mass per unit length and the charge per unit length, only the radially moving photons may escape.
