Extracellular polysaccharides ofRhizobium

Abstract

Extracellular polysaccharides synthesized by sixRhizobium species (Rhizobium trifolii; Rhizobium meliloti, Rhizobium phaseoli; Rhizobium leguminosarum; Rhizobium japonicum andRhizobium species for cowpea) increased with age of the culture. Identical sugars were found in these polysaccharides on acid hydrolysis. But, however, uronic acid, amino sugars and carbohydrate contents varied in different species.
