The distribution of the mean of Fisher’st 2 for samples from a normal population

Proceedings of the Indian Academy of Sciences - Section A Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

It has been established that the average of a number of independentt 2’s calculated on the basis of a common appropriate variance is equal to the ratio of two variances. By using this fact the distribution of the average of Fisher’st 2 for samples from a normal population has been derived. In view of this finding some suggestions have been put forward for determining the significance of the difference between the means of samples of different sizes.
