Abstract

Countless techniques have been devised for reconstruction of the tympanic membrane and ossicular chain, and almost just as many have been discarded. This speaks strongly of the fact that we have been dissatisfied with our results in tympanoplasty. Some of the diffculties that I have encountered seem common to most surgeons.
