Salmonella thyroid abscess mimicking thyroid carcinoma

Abstract

A rare case of thyroid abscess caused by Salmonella group D bacteria is reported. The clinical presentation was that of thyroid carcinoma, but diagnosis was possible only after thyroidectomy. A brief review of literature is presented.
