Cortisone treatment of nasal polyps

Conclusion

Marked symptomatic relief is provided by Cortisone therapy in ethmoidal polypi where the element of allergy predominates and infection is absent. Early small sized polyp cases benefit more.

Where there are no contra-indications for cortisone and patient is apprehensive about operative treatment, the use of cortisone is worth a trial.
