Evaluation of antrum lavage in maxillary sinusitis

Summary

In a series of 20 cases of maxillary sinusitis the diagnosis was confirmed in 15 cases by sinus lavage which showed positive findings. In 12 cases the causative organisms and etiology was determined. In this study it was found that without transillumination but with a good clinical assessment helped by X-ray findings the pathology of maxillary sinusits can be confirmed, and treated so that the physipathology restored to normal physical conditions.
