Abstract
A case of a giant mucocele of sphenoid sinus excavating through the sella and presenting as a large anterior cranial fossa space occupying lesion is reported. The mucocele perforated into the subarachnoid space and caused fulminant pyogenic meningitis. The organisms grown from the aspirate of mucocele were E. Coli and Klebsiella. It was excised through the transcranial route, patient made an unventful recovery.
