Abstract

Osteomyelitis of the mastoid temporal bone is now rare. Before the advent of chemotherapeutic agents and antibiotics it was a common sequel of middle ear infection.

A case of osteomyelitis of the mastoid temporal bone, probably of otogenic origin from residual middle ear infection, with an intact tympanic membrane and radiologogical evidence, is presented.
