Abstract

Juvenile angiofibroma are benign tumours, predominantly seen in males with reports in females too (Osborn, 1965). They do not metastasise, but grow by extension. They may invade the orbit, sinuses, pterygoid fossa or the cranial cavity. As its name implies, it is more common during puberty and adolescence. These tumours usually occur between the ages of 10 and 25 years. The age of onset of some series are: Figi and Davis (1950), 10–20 years, Martin, Ehrlich and Abels (1948), 7–19 years, Harkonen and Malmio (1948), 10–31 years and Furstenberg and Boles (1963), 3 months-50 years. But there are published reports which are not within these age limits. Hall and Wilkin’s (1968) patient was 38 years old, Sinha’s (1971) 70 years of age and that of Pradillo (1975), 62 years old. A case of a 52 year old man with a recurring angiofibroma is reported.
