Conclusion

  1. 1.

Twenty anaemic subjects with haemoglobin level 5 gm% or below are studied for eighth nerve function and compared with the results obtained when haemolobin level brought up to about 10gm%

  2. 2.

There is no impairment of hearing in any of the frequencies in severe anaemia.

  3. 3.

Cold and hot sensitivity of vestibular response before and after treatment shows that cold is stronger stimulus than that of hot.

  4. 4.

There is no significant difference observed in right and left ear sensitivity.

  5. 5.

In severe anaemia there is depression of vestibular function but when anaemia improves, vestibular function is also improved which is proved statistically.
