Summary
Haemangiopericytoma is a rare tumour of vascular origin. Its incidence in the region of the head and neck is about one third of its occurence in the whole body. It sometimes metastasizes and reoccurs if its removal is not complete. However, it is locally malignant and exhibits a capacity for progressive growth and occasionally an aggressive disposition. It is radio-resistant, and hence the treatment is complete removal of the tumour.
