New method for the treatment of traumatic eardrumperforations

Summary

Surgical treatment of traumatic eardrumperforations. The purpose of this paper is to present a new technique in the treatment of traumatic eardrum perforations. After curretage of the inner portion of the perforations edge a homofascial graft, conserved in cialit solution, is transplanted to the underneath the eardrum rest held in position by gelfoam in the tympanic cavity. Following this a homomeatal skin flap is adapted on the outer surface of the facial graft. Hearing results of 28 cases are demonstrated.
