Summary
Surgery alone can impart lasting relief to those cases of post-cricoid carcinoma which are operable either initially or after a course of radiotherapy. In two such cases the anterior halves of the larynx and trachea of the same patient (Laryngo-tracheal autograft) was used for repair, after laryngo-pharyngo-partial oesophagectomy, to form the new food passage. The technique has been described in detail and it is expected that more and more of laryngologists will try this method, which is expected to give good results.
