Surgical inspection windows in tympanoplasty

Summary

Significance of inspection windows, for visulising the deeper pathology in the chronic infections of the middle ear and mastoids has been explained. The historical review in relation to the making of the windows has been dealt with. Attempt has been made to draw a correlation between the observations made through windows, and with the open operation of the mastoids.
