Summary
The molecular refractivity is found to increase with temperature in CS2, C6H6 and C6H14 liquids. On the other hand, in CC14, it remains constant. These results indicate that the optical polarisation field is anisotropic in the former three liquids whereas it is isotropic in the case of CC14.
