Summary
It has been shown that in the case of oblique incidence of the light when the angle of incidence is close to the Bragg angle and for high frequencies of the supersonic waves, the intensities of the orders 0 and - 1 and of the orders + 1 and - 2 can easily be obtained from the generalised theory of Raman and Nath. The formulæ are the same as those obtained by a more involved perturbation calculation by Bhatia and Noble.
