Summary

Bands corresponding to IO, occurring in the flame of methyl iodide, have been obtained in the flame of ethyl bromide. The experimental evidence and the vibrational analysis are in favour of BrO being the emitter of these bands. Also a large number of bands in the yellow-orange have been shown to be due to Br2.
