Dilepton production at the CERN SPS and LHC

Summary

The main results concerning dilepton production in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions at CERN SPS are reported. The e+ e- and μ+ μ- measurements are briefly reviewed as well as their theoretical interpretations.
