Abstract
Die Verbreitung gefälschter Produkte entwickelt sich für viele Markenhersteller zu einem ernstzunehmenden Problem. Bisherige Erfahrungen zeigen, dass angebotsseitige Maßnahmen zur Eindämmung der Markenpiraterie wenig effektiv sind. Insbesondere im Fall des bewussten Erwerbs gefälschter Markenprodukte erweisen sich entsprechende Aktivitäten vielfach als unzureichend. Vor diesem Hintergrund verlagert sich das Interesse zunehmend auf nachfrageseitige Aspekte der Markenpiraterie, die lange Zeit vernachlässigt wurden. Da sich die Kaufmotive in Abhängigkeit von der Produktkategorie unterscheiden, stellt die Analyse der Motive und Einstellungen der Käufer von Fälschungen eine wichtige Voraussetzung dar, um geeignete Maßnahmen zur Eindämmung der Nachfrage nach Plagiaten ergreifen zu können.
