Summary

This communication illustrates certain limitations of demand ventricular-inhibited generators in preventing stimulation in the vulnerable period. Long rhythm strips consistently demonstrated inadequate sensing of ventricular premature beats occuring within 520 msec interval after paced beats. An explanation for this finding is given.

The diagnostic value of Holter monitoring in the investigation of this problem is stressed.
