Bronchoscopy in the diagnosis of broncho-pulmonary cancer — Film 35 mm–10 mn

Résumé

La méthode de bronchoscopie que nous utilisons à notre Institut est démontrée dans le film que nous avons présenté.

Les caractéristiques particulièrement intéressantes de cette méthode sont les suivantes:

Tout d’abord, l’examen est toujours pratiqué sous anesthésie générale, ce qui présente beaucoup d’avantages en dépit de quelques inconvénients. Nous avons déjà rapporté sur ce sujet aux congrès de Taormina et de Bordeaux.

Le deuxième point important consiste dans l’utilisation du système «biplane X-Ray TV» qui permet de situer avec précision la localisation d’un foyer.

D’autre part, le bronchoscope rigide et le bronchoscope flexible sont utilisés en même temps, chaque appareillage ayant ses propres avantages respectifs.

Enfin, l’intérêt de l’examen bronchoscopique par «endoscopic TV» est démontré. Cette méthode est d’une grande utilité pratique, non seulement par ses possibilités de documentation cinématographique particulièment intéressante pour l’enseignement.

Summary

The whole system of the bronchoscopy which is carried out daily in our Institute is shown in the film.

The remarkable characteristics of our system are as follows:

First of all, the examination is always carried out under general anesthesia. This method has many advantages and at the same time some disadvantages. This subject had been already reported by us at the same congress in Taormina and Bordeaux.

The second point is the utilization of biplane X-Ray T.V. system which is practical for the determination of the locality of a focus.

The other point; both of rigid bronchoscope and flexible fiberscope are utilized at the same time, because it is thought that each of the both types has own advantages respectively.

At last, the examination through the endoscopic T.V. system is demonstrated. It is very much practical and useful, not only for the recording of the special findings but also for the education of young doctors and students.
