Summary
Dyspepsia or unexplained upper abdominal pain with negative conventional testing presents a challenge to all clinicians. Combined endoscopic ultrasound and stimulated biliary drainage (EUS/SBD) has proven its worth in detecting otherwise occult gallbladder disease in many of these patients. The present study demonstrates that a high percentage of patients with dyspepsia/unexplained upper abdominal pain have good quality-of-life outcomes and pain relief post-cholecystectomy, following positive EUS/SBD results.
