Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (an analysis based on personal working experience)

Résumé

Les auteurs rapportent leur expérience de la gastrostomie percutanée endoscopique (GPE), chez 193 patients porteurs de néoplasie, traumatisme, et d'affection neurologique, de septembre 1994 à mai 2001.

Nous avons évalué les complications liées à la mise en phace et lors du suivi de la GPE et proposons une liste de recommandations de soins des patients à domicile.

Les complications les plus importantes sont survenues chez les malades hospitalisés et non chez les malades suivis à domicile.

Summary

The Authors report their experience of the use of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) in 193 neoplastic, traumatised and neurological patients from September 1994 to May 2001.

They evaluate the complications from placement or management the PEG and provides recommendations a guideline for patients at home.

The major complications were found in hospitalised patients and not in patients at home.
