Summary
Case histories of three patients have been given m an effort to show that a low serum cholmesterase is by no means an invariable finding where prolonged recovery to succinylchohne occurs.
A theory is given of a possible mechanism m these cases. Practical suggestions on treatment are offered.

L’auteur présente le cas de deux patients qui, sous l’effet de la succinyl cholme, ne se reveillèrent qu’aprés deux heures et derme Chez l’un, la chohnesterase du serum était normale; chez l’autre, elle etait basse.
Par ailleurs, un troisième patient, chez qui la cholmestersse était basse avant l’opération, ne montra aucune réponse anormale à la succinyl choline. On préconise la théorie d’un effet central dépresseur surajouté aux effets pé#x00E9;nphénques pour exphquer ces cas d’apnée prolongée due à la succinyl choline.
